- The Path Forward -

Four years ago, it was the honor of my life to be elected to Troy City Council, in the city where I was born and raised.

During my term, I fought to bring a new chapter of ethics and accountability to City Hall. I worked to get your voice heard, and championed initiatives to protect our green spaces, parks, and library, all while lowering our tax rate 3.5%.

As an Engineer and experienced Council member, I’m ready to take on the challenges that lie ahead, especially the important update to our master plan and guiding us through the ever-changing COVID crisis.

I hope you’ll choose me to continue moving Troy forward.

AS YOUR CURRENT COUNCIL MEMBER,

I WILL CONTINUE TO:

CHAMPION ETHICS & TRANSPARENCY

When I first ran for office, I knocked on thousands of doors and residents told me they had lost trust in Council. When I was elected, I fought for transparency and an overhaul of our ethics policy. Today, the Council is collaborative and respected. I’ll always stand up for you and work to strengthen our reputation.

RESPECT RESIDENTS & OUR GREEN SPACES

At the doors, residents also expressed their frustration with over-development. Once elected, I supported the creation of a subcommittee focused on protecting green spaces in Troy. I’ll always listen to you, especially when evaluating development.

PROTECT OUR LIBRARY

I helped approve a seven day library and sorely needed investments to its infrastructure, staff, and programs. I’ll continue to protect it, especially for seniors, students, and children.

INVEST IN PARKS, TRAILS, & GATHERING PLACES

During my term, we upgraded our parks, and our trails program is well underway. I’ll continue to support initiatives that bring our community together, while ensuring your hard-earned tax dollars are spent wisely.

STRENGTHEN OUR FINANCES

We as a Council have worked hard to lock in Troy’s financial strength. During my term, we paid off $18 million in debt. As a member of Troy’s Pension and Retiree Healthcare boards, we’ve made smart, long-term investments, saving the city millions and securing our AAA bond rating. But the pandemic is unpredictable. I’m dedicated to reinforcing our finances to prepare us for what’s ahead.

SUPPORT OUR POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS

Troy is one of the safest cities in the state and that’s due to our hardworking police and fire departments. In the last four years we’ve raised police funding by $4 million and restored our Traffic Safety Unit by hiring six new officers. I’ll make sure these departments have the resources they need.

GUIDE US THROUGH THE PANDEMIC

This Council is united in our response to COVID and follows all recommendations from our healthcare community. We will continue to support our frontline workers and give residents safe methods to interact with the city.

SUPPORT OUR BUSINESS COMMUNITY

Troy is the second largest business-hub in the state, and it provides a third of our property tax revenue. COVID has rocked this foundation. I’ll continue to use every resource available to bolster our business community, including emergency loans and grants. I’m dedicated to seeing our businesses through a post-COVID world and maintaining Troy’s standing in the state.
